Lavaye Prenatal Massage

Gentle, nurturing, and expertly delivered — a safe, restorative experience designed exclusively for mothers-to-be.

Comfort-focused care designed for the stages that carry the most change.

Built for expectant mothers experiencing tension, swelling, or disrupted sleep, this specialised treatment delivers gentle, targeted relief without deep pressure or techniques that compromise safety. Slow, supportive movements reduce discomfort in the lower back, hips, and shoulders while improving circulation and easing fluid retention. Unlike routine relaxation massages, the Lavaye™ Prenatal approach blends clinical awareness with nurturing technique — supporting posture as the body adapts, calming the nervous system, and restoring comfort through every stage of pregnancy with approved positioning and modified methods.

Comfort & Positioning Assessment

Your session begins with a safety-led consultation to understand your trimester, medical clearance, and areas of discomfort. Your therapist ensures approved positioning — typically side-lying with supportive bolsters — to protect circulation, reduce strain, and maintain full comfort throughout the treatment.

Gentle, Pregnancy-Safe Techniques

Light, rhythmic strokes are applied to ease tension in the lower back, hips, shoulders, and legs without deep pressure or techniques contraindicated during pregnancy. The focus is on improving circulation, reducing swelling, and calming overworked muscles as the body adapts to added weight and postural change.

Soothing Nervous System Support

The session concludes with nurturing techniques designed to reduce stress hormones, support better sleep, and restore a sense of balance. Your therapist provides after-care guidance tailored to each stage of pregnancy — helping you stay comfortable between appointments as your body continues to shift.

What does the Prenatal Massage include?

This treatment is designed to ease pregnancy-related tension in the back, hips, shoulders, and legs using gentle, supportive techniques. Each session is tailored to your comfort level with specialised positioning and cushioning to ensure complete safety throughout every stage.

Prenatal massage is available from the second trimester onward. If you are in your first trimester or experiencing any pregnancy-related complications, we recommend obtaining medical clearance before booking so we can support you safely.

You will be comfortably supported in a side-lying or semi-reclined position using soft bolsters and pillows. We avoid face-down positioning and ensure that pressure and techniques are adjusted to protect circulation and support your body as it changes.

Prenatal massage uses light to moderate pressure focused on comfort and relaxation. Deep-pressure techniques are not performed during pregnancy, especially on sensitive areas such as the lower back, inner thighs, and abdomen.

We avoid abdominal massage and do not apply pressure to reflex points that are contraindicated during pregnancy. If you have swelling, severe pain, or recent medical changes, please inform your therapist so the session can be safely adapted.

Only pregnancy-safe enhancements may be added. Gentle warm towels and light head or hand rituals are suitable options. Cupping, deep tissue, lymphatic stimulation, hot stones, and intense stretching are not offered during prenatal sessions.

If you are under specialist care or have been advised of any complications, please obtain clearance from your healthcare provider before booking. Your comfort and safety are always prioritised, and adjustments will be made based on your individual needs.
